Project Location: Potsdam, NY
The New Child Care Center is located at a site outside the academic core of SUNY Potsdam, while remaining close to campus for convenience of use. The facility provides program spaces including infant, toddler, preschool and school age classrooms as well as large motor skill spaces, secure outside play areas, and a commercial kitchen as well as administration and support space. The welcoming design and bright interior spaces create an ideal environment for children’s learning and play. Future program expansion was incorporated into the design with adequately sized spaces and carefully determined adjacencies. The new Child Care Center will meet the current needs and prepare for the future needs of the college’s expanding population of students, faculty, and staff, as well as serving the rest of the Potsdam community at large. This project was completed in collaboration with Studio-MLA Architects.
