Notre Dame Schools by Architectural Resources

Design Brief

Project Location: Utica, NY

Notre Dame School’s new entrance and multi-purpose addition began with an extensive program study and master plan for the consolidation of all Catholic schools in the greater Utica area.  The Master Plan included an existing building assessment to evaluate building conditions and to prioritize the future projects. We identified the opportunity to enhance the existing facility with a classroom addition to accommodate grades K through 8 with increased efficiency and safety as well as the opportunity for an educational program space for theater, music, recreation and athletics. The resulting project focused on the multi-purpose facility serving both the school and the greater Utica community. The iconic and expansive floor to ceiling front glass façade provides abundant natural light for all activities occurring inside and shines brilliantly as a beacon of light on campus.
